Newly appointed Army Commander of Sri Lanka, a distinguished former student of Ananda College, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake felicitated in a glittering ceremony organized by the Olcott Schools Alumni in the UAE.

The short film showed at the function added remarkable glamour to the event, that exhibited the Commanders carrier life and his life achievements from the school age. The Commander received a memento from the Consular General of Dubai and Nothern Emirates Mr Charitha Yattogoda in front of houseful of Olcott Schools Alumini members and their families in the UAE.

On behalf of Sri Lanka Army, a special memento commemorating the occasion was presented by Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake to the Consular General of Dubai and Nothern Emirates Mr Charitha Yattogoda.

Welihinda Badalge Bennett of Mahinda College, Galle was the second Sri Lankan cricketer to have his name in the "Guinness Book of World Records" after Clive Inman. Inman who was the first, earned the honour in1964.
