The Olcott Schools Alumni in UAE recently celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a special edition of the Annual Paduru Sajjaya. This family get-together, known for its traditional Sri Lankan music and vibrant atmosphere, took place on the 3rd of November 2017 at the Radisson Blu, Deira, Dubai.
To mark this significant milestone, the Olcott Schools Alumni brought “Subhavi,” a traditional band from Sri Lanka, to perform at the event. Led by Sanjeewa Widryapathirana, a member of the Sri Lanka Radio Band, Subhavi added a touch of authenticity and nostalgia to the evening’s festivities.
The event was a joyous celebration of the Olcott Schools Alumni’s journey over the past decade. Alumni, along with their families and friends, gathered to enjoy the enchanting melodies of traditional Sri Lankan music and to create lasting memories together.
The Annual Paduru Sajjaya has always been a cherished event for the Olcott Schools Alumni, providing a platform for them to reconnect with their roots and strengthen bonds of friendship. This year’s celebration, with its special musical performance, was a fitting tribute to the community’s 10 years of togetherness and camaraderie.
