The 12th Annual Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament took place at the MCC cricket ground in Ajman on the 15th of March 2019. This prestigious tournament featured teams from Ananda College, Dharmapala College, Dharmaraja College, Dharmasoka College, Maliyadeva College, Mahinda College and Nalanda College.
In the Trophy Tournament, Dharmashoka College emerged as the champions, defeating Dharmaraja College in a thrilling final. Pasindu Prasad from Dharmasoka College was a standout player, earning the titles of Best Batsman and Best Allrounder. Nalin Thenuwara from Dharmasoka College was named the Best Bowler and also received the Man of the Match award for his exceptional performance in the final.
The Plate Tournament saw Mahinda College clinching victory over Nalanda College in the final match. Kasun Thilina from Mahinda College was named the Best Allrounder, Best Batsman, and also received the Man of the Match award for his outstanding contributions to Mahinda College’s victory.
In the Shield Tournament, Maliyadeva College emerged as the winners, defeating Dharmapala College in the final. D. Jayasooriya from Maliyadeva College was named the Best Allrounder, while S. Kandanarachchi from Dharmapala College was named the Best Batsman. Nimesh Thajudeen from Ananda College was named the Best Bowler, and H. Kumarasiri from Maliyadeva College was awarded the Man of the Match for his exceptional performance.
The 12th Annual Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament UAE 2019 was a testament to the talent and sportsmanship of the young cricketers from these esteemed institutions. It was a celebration of cricketing excellence and camaraderie, showcasing the best of Sri Lankan school cricket in the UAE.
