4th Annual Olcott Avurudu Festival 2026

The Olcott Schools Alumni in the UAE celebrated the 4th Annual Olcott Avurudu Festival on 3rd May 2026 at Mushrif Park, Dubai, bringing together members and their families for a joyful and culturally rich gathering.

The event was further enriched by the presence of General Daya Ratnayake, who attended as a proud old boy of Maliyadeva College, adding a special significance to the occasion. The celebrations commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, symbolizing unity and new beginnings.

A beautifully arranged Avurudu table featuring authentic Sri Lankan kavili showcased the essence of traditional New Year customs, while a variety of traditional Avurudu games brought excitement and laughter to participants of all ages.

The event created a warm and festive atmosphere, strengthening the bonds among members and celebrating Sri Lankan heritage in true Olcott spirit.
