The 4th Annual Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament held at the Sharjah International Cricket Stadium in 2011 was a magnificent showcase of cricketing talent and sportsmanship. The tournament featured teams from Ananda College, Dharmapala College, Dharmaraja College, Dharmashoka College, Maliyadeva College, Mahinda College, Nalanda College, and Rahula College.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Sarath Wijesinghe, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka for UAE, who served as the Chief Guest, adding prestige to the occasion.
In the Trophy Tournament, Nalanda College emerged victorious, claiming the championship trophy after a series of thrilling matches. Dharmasoka College put up a strong fight but had to settle for the runner-up position. The individual awards were also keenly contested, with Arunalu De Silva from Nalanda College named the Best All-rounder, Viraj Dharmasiri from Nalanda College as the Best Bowler, and Aruna Bandaranayake from Maliyadeva College as the Best Batsman. Madura Warnapura from Nalanda College was also recognized for his outstanding performance.
In the Plate Tournament, Ananda College emerged as the winners, defeating Mahinda College, who were the runners-up. Anuradha Jayaratne from Mahinda College was named the Best All-rounder, Sumith Alwis from Mahinda College as the Best Batsman, and Anuradha Jayaratne from Mahinda College as the Best Bowler. Dulip De Silva from Mahinda College was recognized as the Best Fielder.
The 4th Annual Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament UAE 2011 was a celebration of cricketing excellence and the camaraderie among the alumni of Olcott Schools. It highlighted the rich cricketing tradition of these esteemed institutions and showcased the talent and dedication of all those who participated.
