The 5th Annual Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament held at the Hamriya Cricket Ground in Ajman in 2012 was a spectacular display of cricketing talent and sportsmanship. The tournament featured teams from Ananda College, Dharmapala College, Dharmasoka College, Dharmaraja College, Maliyadewa College, Mahinda College, Nalanda College, and Rahula College.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. M M Abdul Rahim, the Consul General of Dubai & Northern Emirates, who served as the Chief Guest, adding prestige to the occasion.
In the Trophy Tournament, Maliyadeva College emerged victorious, claiming the championship trophy after a series of exciting matches. Nalanda College put up a strong fight but had to settle for the runner-up position. The individual awards were also keenly contested, with Arunalu De Silva from Nalanda College named the Best Allrounder and Best Batsman, and Darshana Nakandala from Ananda College as the Best Bowler. D. De Silva from Ananda College and P. Renuka from Nalanda College were recognized as the Best Fielders.
In the Plate Tournament, Dharmasoka College emerged as the winners, defeating Dharmaraja College, who were the runners-up. M. Ekanayake from Dharmaraja College was named the Best Allrounder, M. Piyasinghe from Dharmaraja College as the Best Batsman, and M. Piyasinghe from Dharmaraja College as the Best Bowler and Best Fielder.
The 5th Annual Olcott Schools Cricket Tournament UAE 2012 was a testament to the spirit of cricket and the camaraderie among the alumni of Olcott Schools.
