The Olcott Schools Alumni-UAE demonstrated their commitment to environmental responsibility and community service by organizing the Dubai Clean Up Campaign 2014. Held on Friday, 14th November 2014, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, this initiative saw the Alumni members, their families, and friends coming together to make a tangible difference in the local environment.
The assembly point for volunteers was at the Dubai Land Sky Court Area (Dubai – Al Ain Road – before Outlet Mall), marking the start of a collaborative effort supported by the Dubai Municipality and the United Nations Environmental Protection agency. The event symbolized the Alumni’s dedication to the global call for a cleaner and healthier planet.
Participants were equipped with T-shirts, caps, and hand gloves, reinforcing the Alumni’s pledge to provide a safe and organized clean-up experience. The campaign was not just about environmental action but also community building, featuring breakfast and refreshments for volunteers, followed by a BBQ and musical entertainment at Zabeel Park to celebrate the collective effort.
The Alumni encouraged attendees to bring garden chairs and join in at Zabeel Park after the cleaning program for a well-deserved relaxation and socialization session. This initiative was a testament to the Olcott Alumni’s spirit of service and their proactive stance on ecological issues.
The Dubai Clean Up Campaign 2014 was a resounding success, setting a precedent for future endeavors and inspiring many within the community to adopt a more active role in protecting our environment. The Olcott Schools Alumni-UAE thanks all the participants and supporters for their dedication and looks forward to fostering a greener future through similar events.
