Felicitating Sri Lankan Cricket Stars: A Tribute by Olcott Schools Alumni in UAE
The Olcott Schools Alumni in UAE had the privilege of felicitating the Sri Lankan Test Cricket Team and One Day Cricket Team during their UAE tour. The event, organized by the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai & Northern Emirates and Lanka Lions Sports Club United Arab Emirates on 22nd October 2017, was a celebration of the team’s achievements and a token of appreciation for their dedication to the sport.
At the event, momentos were presented to the Sri Lankan Test Cricket Team Captain and One Day Cricket Team Captain by the Secretary of Olcott Schools Alumni, Charitha Athauda. The gesture was a symbol of respect and admiration for the players’ outstanding performance on the field.
A special momento was also presented to Rangana Herath, who made history by becoming the first left-arm spinner in Test history to take 400 Test wickets. The momento was received by team manager Asanka Gurusinghe on behalf of Herath, recognizing his remarkable achievement and contribution to Sri Lankan cricket.
