Olcott Oration 2026 : Character Before Competence

The Olcott Schools Alumni in the UAE successfully hosted the Olcott Oration 2026 on 10th January 2026 at The S Hotel, Al Barsha, Dubai, bringing together alumni and distinguished guests for an inspiring and insightful evening.

The keynote address was delivered by Gen. Daya Ratnayake, former Commander of the Sri Lanka Army and a proud past pupil of Maliyadeva College. Speaking on the theme “Character Before Competence – The Enduring Legacy of Olcott’s Vision in a Changing World,” he shared valuable insights on leadership, integrity, and the importance of strong character in shaping individuals and society.
